We are looking for a highly motivated and versitile designer who can work and learn fast.
About Yum Bug
At Yum Bug we turn insects into delicious foods people love and recognise like burgers, mince and nuggets. Our bug-based foods aren't just great for the planet but are also great for you with about 30% more protein than beef.
We have had backing from the likes of Holly Branson (Virgin), Peter Norris (Virgin), Carl Pei (Nothing, One Plus), James Frost (Gay Times).
We’re on a mission to change perceptions and take edible insects mainstream. To do this Yum Bug is building a world-class team of fun-loving, ambitious people, and we’d love you to be one of them!
Role
As Designer you will need be a great all-rounder with a good eye for packaging, print materials, website, and image and video content.
You’ll be:
Designing our packaging and iterating on it based on feedback
Designing print materials (flyers, signage, posters etc) for all events
Working with local shops on optimising retail signage and packaging designs
In charge of our newsletter The Crunch and our mailing list
Designing and updating our website
Editing videos and images for social
Dealing with customer service enquires
Fulfiling online orders
Helping out at stalls events as and when necessary
What you need to do the job effectively:
Believe insects are the future of food, and have a strong desire to help create a more sustainable food system
A great all-round design eye
An independent work ethic, and very driven
Need to be a fast worker. We’re all about the Pareto Principle!
Be very organised – you’ll have multiple things on at the same time
Be an exceptional communicator, esp with the team
Speak, read and write in perfect English
Bonus (but not at all essential):
Skills in Adobe: Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro
Experience art working for packaging
Experience editing video or motion graphics
Sick skills behind the camera (photo or video)
Experience editing websites in Wix
