STICKY TERIYAKI CRICKET BAO BUNS


Bao bun with teriyaki crickets, radishes and cucumber. Edible insect recipe that's delicious, and high in protein.

Perfect for if you're feeling a little naughty, or throwing together a party! If you've got time to spare, you could even make your own bao buns.

 

Serves: 2

Time: 30 mins


INGREDIENTS


Carrot – 1

Cucumber – ¼

Radishes – 2

Coriander – a small handful

Sriracha Mayo – 2 tbsp

Bao Buns - 4

Rice Wine Vinegar - 2 tbsp


METHOD


1. PICKLE THE CARROT | 15 mins

  • Grate the carrot.

  • Add 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar and leave to pickle for 15 minutes.


2. PREPARE THE CRICKETS | 5 mins

  • Prepare the crickets as per the instructions on the Bug Kit.


3. PREPARE THE VEGETABLES | 5 mins

  • Thinly slice the radishes and cucumber.


4. SERVE | 5 mins

  • Open the bao buns and add some sriracha mayo.

  • Add the cucumber and the radishes.

  • Top with the pickled carrots.

  • Finish with the sticky crickets and some coriander.
